I will transform the economy of Ahanta West

As the parliamentary primaries for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) draw near, Skyy News can conclude that most aspirants have prepared their arsenals for the battle ahead.

25 aspirants in total will be contesting in 9 constituencies with sitting MPs in the Western Region on January 27, 2024.

Aspiring Parliamentary candidate for the Ahanta West constituency on the ticket of the NPP Mr Kwesi Yankey says one of his major tasks if given the nod to lead is to champion the cause to ensure the road network is properly fixed and transform the economy of Ahanta West.

Speaking to Skyy News, he indicated that he would resource small and medium-scale enterprises, provide scholarships for brilliant students and use his years of experience as an agronomist to boost the oil palm and rubber plantation in the Ahanta West communities.

According to him, there are vast plantations of oil palm and rubber in the Ahanta West and he believes if he becomes a Member of Parliament, will use his experience to leverage these resources to boost the economy of Ahanta West and expand their market globally.

He said, “If Singapore has been able to develop and boost their economy with oil palm which they came to learn the process in Ghana, but now, we Ghanaians are now going there to learn on how to leverage the oil palm business.”

“Our road issue is the major problem in Ahanta West and it will also be one of my major targets if I am given the nod to lead, I will make sure the road is the first thing I fix in the constituency,”
