Ken Ofori Atta meets Appointment Committee of Parliament today

Vida Essel-LampteyThe Minister designate for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta will appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament today, the Public Affairs Department of Parliament has said.
According to a statement release by the Department, the Committee would hold public hearing to consider, Mr Ofori-Atta as Minister for Finance.
The Minister who had head the ministry in the President’s first term was earlier scheduled to meet the committee on February 16 but was unable to do so due to a COVID-19 post complications which required him to travel out of the country for further treatment .
He is expected among other things to answer questions about the state of the country’s economy at the time he took office, how the economy was doing pre COVID-19 and post COVID-19 as well as measures to mitigate the impact of the disease on the economy.
