Kennedy Agyapong disappointed with level of development in oil & gas enclave in Western Region



The Board chairman of the Ghana National gas company limited Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has expressed his disappointment in the level of development in the oil and gas enclaves of the western region.

Since Ghana became a net producer of crude oil over the past twelve years, one expectation is to see massive infrastructural development in their host communities, to better the lives of residents.

The Atuabo community in the Ellembelle district of the Western region which hosts most of the oil and gas companies is still lacking the needed infrastructural development.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong board chairman of Ghana national gas company limited speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Atuabo to climax this year’s Kundum festival expressed his disappointment in the level of development in the area.

He entreated the chiefs and opinion leaders to engage any other company coming to invest in the oil and gas sector in the area to sign good agreements with them to ensure that about 30% of their profits are used to develop their towns

The paramount chief of Eastern Nzema traditional council Awulea Amihere Kpanyinli also addressing the gathering called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to speak and kick against all galamsey activities in the country which destroying our environment.
