Legon students to ballot for accommodation

Students of Ghana’s premier university, University of Ghana, Legon would from Monday, January 11 ballot to secure accommodation on campus.
A notice sighted on social media by GhanaPlus.com said students of Legon Hall, especially, those in level 400 must report to campus on the said date to ballot for accommodation.
“All level 400 students who applied for accommodation should come to the hall for balloting on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 10am” the notice sighted on twitter reads.

Past and present students of the educational institution had since reacted to the notice.
Legon accommodation challenge
Securing accommodation in and around Ghana’s premier university, University of Ghana, Legon in both residential and private halls had always been a challenge for students especially, freshers.
Many students who gain admission to pursue various courses of study at the University often go through daunting task in securing one due to unavailability.
Graphiconline.com report, in 2019 alone, over 9000 fresh students were left stranded as the University was only able to offer accommodation to only 1,970 students in both residential and private halls linked to the university out of over 11,000 students admitted .
