NADMO warns of pending disaster in Sekondi as residents engage in indiscriminate Sand Winning

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan NADMO Director, Mr James Obeng Junior, has attributed the tidal wave that occurred a month ago in Sekondi to the activities of sand winning along the shores of Sekondi.

The tidal wave caused the sea to overflow its banks, spreading through the road from Sekondi Gate Ekyir through to Nkontompo.

Residents of Sekondi and its environs in the Western Region were dismayed to see the sea tide cross the sea defence wall.

But according to the Metropolitan NADMO Director, Mr James Obeng Junior explains that the activities of sand winning along the shores of Sekondi by some individuals for their personal gains will destroy the entire community if not stopped immediately.
