NPP must reward hardworking members like me – Spanky – Skyy Power FM

Mr Godfred Okyere Owusu says he believes the time has come for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reward grassroots, particularly people who have worked hard for the party like himself.
Mr Okyere Owusu, affectionately known as Homeboy Spanky made this known when he submitted his nomination forms on Tuesday, July 18, to contest for the parliamentary primaries in Wassa East District.

He says he will urge the party to encourage grassroots participation in politics and avoid imposing outsiders on the constituents as it breeds equal opportunity.
He said, “We reward loyalty and it is time for NPP to reward grassroots people like me. I will urge our party to encourage grassroots participation in politics, we are the grassroots and would want to do things the way the people want it.
“The contest is still open, anybody can come but we want the party to be neutral and encourage equal opportunity.”

Mr Owusu said he is going to secure the Wassa East Constituency seat for the NPP and make sure it becomes permanent for the party.
“I’ve lost and won elections before and I know what it takes to take this seat from the NDC, I’m going to make this constituency a safer seat for the NPP from 2012 going.”
Mr Godfred Okyere Owusu’s profile:
Former Assembly Member for Sekyere Krobo
Government appointee under Hon Wilson Arthur’s administration as DCE to date.
Two times unendorsed as constituency party chairman
