Prof Gyampo elected President of UTAG, University of Ghana branch

A Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana (Legon), Prof Ransford Gyampo have been elected President of the University Teachers Association,(UTAG), University of Ghana branch.
The renown Political Analyst garnered 93.3 percent of the total valid votes cast to emerge the President of the association he previously served as the General Secretary.
Sharing the news of his election in a social media post, Prof Gyampo said his regime would be for the advancement of the interest of the people he has been elected to serve.
“In the driving seat myself, I’ll champion the interest of my people forcefully and proactively. I lost some friends as General Secretary and I do not mind losing more as I fight harder for the University Teacher in my capacity as President,” he said.
“It won’t be out of malice or hatred for any regime. It would be just for the advancement of the interest of my people,” his statement further reads.
Prof Gyampo forewarned government and the powers that be in the affairs of the association that his regime would fight for the interest of his people saying “Let the powers that be, take note of this: with me as UTAG President, we wouldn’t like to fight but we wouldn’t hate to fight, regardless of how protracted it could be”.
The UG lecturer was grateful to his colleagues for the confidence repose in him.
He also thanked his students for their support.
“Thanks to you all for the well wishes; thanks to all my colleague lecturers for the confidence they have shown in me and thanks to my students who were relentless in their support for me”.
