Remand Sekondi-Takoradi Mayor for one week to teach him a lesson – Adam Bonaa

A Security Analyst and Executive Director of Security Warehouse, Adam Bonaa has called on the government and the Ghana Police Service to compensate the woman who was shot dead together with the Police Officer in the daylight robbery at James Town in Accra.

According to him, every life matters and as such the country should be seen to be placing more premium on the life of the Police Officer over that of the woman who lost her life through no fault of hers.

Mr Bonaa made the call on TheKeyPoint on TV3 on Saturday, June 19, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

He explained compensating the woman’s family would endeared trust among the general public, most especially, those who had information about the perpetrators of last Monday’s gruesome murder and robbery.

“I want to see the Ghana Police and the Ghana governments while they talk about compensation for the Police officer can they also be one for the woman. I haven’t t seen any real thing, they have not visited the family of this woman, I want to see them because if they didn’t go close to where the woman was, she wouldn’t have been shot dead. Are we going to compensate the woman, her families?.”

“So that at least it would help those around if they have any information they know that if I give it to the police, chances are that if anything happens me I could be compensated…. So I think that let not just over concentrate on just the police officer who is dead but the woman, every life lost is important so let put premier on that woman’s life also,” Mr Bonaa said.

The robbers were reported to have trailed the bullion van belonging Mon-Tran and on a money collection errand in a taxi and on a motorbike until they reached the scene of the attack, a less crowded location near Timber Market, James Town in Accra and shot the police officer in the head, killing him and Ms Badu.
However, in an interview with TV3, the Minister of Interior, Mr Ambrose Dery said the family of the Police Officer would be compensated since he lost his life in line of duty.
The Ghana Police Service led by the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mr James Oppong Boanuh  also paid the family a visit on June 15, to commensurate with them on their lost.
