Residents of Menzezor at Ellembelle receive free medical screening
The Menzezor Health Professionals and Associates in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region have held a free medical screening for residents in the community.
The gesture was to improve the health of the people and enhance their living conditions in the New Year.
More than 200 residents were screened for various conditions such as Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Haemoglobin level, Malaria, and Breast conditions.
The aged were also taken through physiotherapy.
Mr Moses Armah Junior, a Health Services Accountant, said the group aimed to sensitise the community on healthy living and prevention of chronic diseases.
Dr Edenkema Yankey, a Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and an alumnus of Nana Akye Blay D/C Junior High School at Menzezor, commended the gesture of the Health Professionals and advised parents to invest in the education of their children for a brighter future.
“Ultimately, society benefits from investment in education as demonstrated by the Menzezor Health Professionals and Associates – MENHEPA.”
Reverend Sarpong Williams, an Educationist, who chaired the occasion, said giving back to society came with blessings and lauded the group for the gesture to promote healthy living among the people.
Nana Akye Blay VII, the Chief of Menzezor and a Board Member of the GNPC Foundation, expressed gratitude to the Professionals for bringing such an innovation into his community.
He urged other professionals to emulate the kind gesture of MENHEPA to improve the living conditions of his people.
The healthcare screening was supported by members of Menzezor Community living abroad, Jomoro Rural bank, Shaip Africa Foundation, and Jephpong Pharmacy.
