Brother of the late President of Ghana, Prof Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills, Mr Samuel Att-Mills has finally opened up to the Ghanaian public the palpable cause of his brother’s death.
In an exclusive interview with JoyNews, on Thursday, July 21, sighted by GhanaPlus.com, he said his brother, Prof Atta-Mills suffered from a condition known as sinus back in 2005 and that took him to his grave years on.
According to him, the family is satisfied with the cause of his brother’s death adding that at some point, Ghana’s late President had to resort to chemotherapy and radiotherapy due to complications from the condition.
“We are satisfied with what killed him. He had had a sinus problem. If anybody cares to know, that was around 2005 and 2006. And it was that thing that had kept on for some time and so he had to go for chemotherapy and he had to go for radiotherapy and it was all those complications, those were all part of it,” he disclosed.
Sinus is defined by my.clevelandclinic.org, an online medical platform as an inflammation of the sinuses that can cause them to get blocked and filled with fluid.
The condition is said to be caused by cold or allergies usually and could require among other things surgery as treatment.
Produce the autopsy report of late President Atta-Mills
Mr Samuel Atta-Mills, a Member of Parliament for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem Constituency’s revelation comes in several years and months following calls by a section of Ghanaians and the former aid to the late President,Mr Koku Anyidoho requesting for the cause of death of Ghana’s third President under the Fourth Republic who died suddenly while in office.
The call for the disclosure was rekindled a couple of days ago by Mr Anyidoho when Mr Atta-Mills called him out for allegedly tempering with the tomb of the late President without the knowledge of the family.
Mr Anyidoho had tweeted “ Sammy Atta-Mills says I am a buffoon? I see! Let him produce the autopsy report of the late President Atta-Mills. Sammy Atta-Mills should tell us, what killed his brother. He says, his brother died in his hands: he should tell us how his brother died”.
