Frederick ElikplimThe Ghana Health Service (GHS) has advised citizens to strictly adhere to the Covid19 health protocols as a second wave of the virus was on the rise.
According to them, there had been a recent increase in cases which showed that citizens were not following health practices.
Dr. Dacosta Aboagye, Director of Health Provision Division at the GHS and Lead of the Risk Communication for Covid19 Taskforce said cases had risen in recent weeks from 309 to 589, with deaths standing at 320.
“The rise in cases stems from non-compliance by citizens with the belief that the virus has left the country,” he noted.
Dr. Aboagye advised that political rallies be held in a way that they adhere to the health guidelines and observed social distancing.
“Do not abandon your health, be mindful, wash your hands, and wear face masks,” he added.
He cautioned Ghanaians to continue to follow the guidelines, saying, “Ghana is making great strides in fighting the disease but there are more days ahead”.
