Speaker of Parliament accepts Ablakwa’s resignation

Vida Essel-LampteyThe Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has accepted the resignation of the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa from the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
This follows a meeting with Mr Ablakwa on Wednesday, March 31 concerning his decision to resign from the committee after serving it’s for three consecutive terms in the 6th, 7th and 8th Parliament.
Mr Ablakwa in a twitter post sharing the news of the Speaker’s acceptance of his resignation said he “Concluded a fruitful and frank meeting with Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban S.K. Bagbin a while ago. I am enormously grateful to him for accepting my resignation from the Appointments Committee of Parliament. May the Good Lord show us mercy & guide our steps in the journey ahead”.

Okudzeto quit Appointment Committee
The NDC MP on Tuesday, March 31 resigned from the Appointment Committee of Parliament citing personal and principles as his reasons .
His resignation letter addressed to the Speaker said his resignation takes effect immediately.
