Former President and 2020 flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has admonished Ghanaian to be steadfast in the face of the recent economic difficulties in the country.
Speaking a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com, he said although the hardships in the country are dire, suicide is never the answer.
“I returned from a trip to the sad news of Kakra who electrocuted himself. Levels of hardship in Ghana are dire; worst in 3 decades. But suicide is never an answer,” Mr Mahama said.
“Even in the darkest night there’ll come dawn. The sun will rise again. Let’s be each other’s keeper & keep hope alive,” added.

Man electrocuted after climbing pylon due to ‘life’s struggles’
Mr Mahama was reacting to media publication of one Kofi Kakra, a bus conductor otherwise known as driver’s mate at Kasoa who was electrocuted after he climbed a high-tension pylon in Kasoa in the Central Region.
Kakra, 24, was said to have complained of about general economic difficulties and life’s struggles and proceeded to climb the pylon to end his life.
“Eyewitnesses said they tried to talk him out of his decision and urged him to come down but he ignored them and continued climbing,” JoyNews report said.
