A technical glitch has caused a total blackout in major parts of the Western Region on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr Benjamin Quarcoo said the power outage was an accident and was caused by a technical glitch.
He made it known that from Beposo through Sekondi-Takoradi to Axim were all areas that are affected by the technical fault leading to a total blackout.
He said, “People were alleging it was a fire outbreak at the VRA but it was just a spark which affected the transmission lines and we are working to change them to provide lights for the people.”
“We can’t give an exact time the lights will be restored but we have been assured it will come before midday when then the transmission lines are changed.”
