Used condoms, sanitary pads found in Law Court Complex sewage lines

Vida Essel-LampteyThe law court complex has directed users of the facility to make use of waste bins placed in the wash rooms to dispose off solid waste generated by them.
A circular issued by the Court Management and sighted by GhanaPlus.com said, the facility’s sewage lines have experienced blockages in recent times due to improper usage disposal by users.
According to them, used sanitary towels wrapped in polythene bags and used condoms among many other solid wastes found in the sewage lines were responsible for the blockage.
“In recent times we have experienced blockages in our sewage lines as a result of the improper disposal of waste. Sachet water bags, used sanitary towels wrapped in polythene bags, used condoms, used paper hand towels were all found in the sewage lines,” the statement said.
Management is therefore, advising the general public , especial, users of the facility to note that it is not right to dispose off the above mentioned waste in that manner.
“Please take note that these items are to be disposed off by placing them in the dustbins provided in the washrooms,” it said.
“Let us all help to keep the Law Court Complex clean and safe,” management added.
