The Jollof war between Ghana and its neigbouring country Nigeria may not end soon and more and more international celebrities and personalities thumps up Ghana’s own against it that of Nigeria
The latest to join the tall list of such persons who have openly expressed their love for the Ghana popular rice meal is the English sprinter, Geraldina Asher-Smith.
Speaking in a short video sighted by GhanaPlus.com, she said Ghana jollof is so much better than that of Nigeria.
The fastest British woman in recorded history and one of the most influential people of African/African Caribbean decent rate Ghana’s version of the cuisine popular in West and Sub-Saharan Africa one hundred percent.
“Hey, I love your jollof, most important thing, I love Ghanaian jollof. Honestly 100%, so much better than Nigerian jollof. Anyway I shouldn’t say that but I love it,” Ms Asher-Smith said.
She made the comment on the sideline of the ongoing World Athletic Championship (OREGON 22) currently ongoing in the United State of America.
Dina Asher-Smith may have won bronze in the women’s 200m at the world champs but she just scored a GOLD MEDAL with Ghanaians because of this. Naija in the mud…again. #Oregon2022 pic.twitter.com/2YNGERahZi

Her admission comes in few months, British DJ and presenter, Tim Westwood also has thumps up the popular Ghanaian dish.
“Ghanaian Jollof definitely got the urge, one hundred,” the celebrated DJ with some 35years experience told the host when quized if he has the same interest for Nigerian cuisines.
Some months ago, English singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran told Nigerian sensational singer, Yemi Alade that he prefers Ghana jollof to any other.
According to him, he has never eaten that of Nigeria before but doubt if any other can be compared to that of Ghana.
He made the comment when the two met in London at the #Earthshot prize event championed by Prince Williams and his wife, Kate Middleton.
Apart from the two, the former Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Gregory Andrews and the former British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, all have publicly chose Ghana Jolly over that Nigeria.
Mr Gregory Andrews in the heat of a rekindled jollof war between the two countries on twitter last year said there is no way Nigeria Jollof can be better than that of Ghana.
“There is no way Nigerian #JollofRice could be better than the Ghanaian #Jollof which I bought for lunch today from Dollar Rice on Oxford Street in Osu. Tell me I’m wrong @AusHCAbuja. #JollofWars”.

Mr Benjamin on the other hand, said he never knew Nigeria could also boast of the popular Ghanaian delicacy.
He however, has no need finding out when there was a superior version in Ghana.
“I wasn’t actually aware that there was Nigerian #jollof, but why bother finding out when you have the superior version from #Ghana? In footballing terms, if you’re at the top of the #jollof Premier league, why worry about what’s going on down in #jollof League Two?”
