Viral St Monica’s ‘Holy Kiss’: Very despicable, Priest must be punished

Vida Essel-LampteyThe Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Edem Agbana has described as despicable the actions by the Anglican Priest caught kissing students at the St Monica’s College of Education.
Speaking on TV3 NewDay on Tuesday, August, 17 monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said his actions leave much to be desire and must be punished accordingly to serve as a deterrent to others.
“Johnnie, I watched the video…. very very despicable,” he said.
“If you watch the video, the last student that kiss this father, you release the resistant, she wasn’t happy doing it but he virtually force her into it . Very very despicable thing…….. the man must be punished irrespective of whatever he is wearing,” he added.

Edem Agbana bemoaned many of such things were happening across the country under the guise of religion adding that the priest expose’ must be an eye opener to a broader conversation on the matter.
He called on gender and child right advocates to speak on the development.
“This should open a broader conversation on how religious leaders are taken advantage of the masses……There are very ridiculous staff that happens in the country but people always will cover it under the pretense of religion. I think is important for us to begin taking some action on this, this students do not deserve this.
“We expect our gender right advocate and child right advocate to come and speak against some of these things,” Mr Agbana said.
St Monica’s College of Education Chaplin kisses students during Church Service
Rev Father Obeng Larbi, an Anglican priest and a Chaplin of the St Monica’s College of Education in Ashanti Mampong in what had been described as disgraceful by many was caught on camera’s kissing students under the guise of a “Holy Kiss” for deserving students.
The Man of God kissed three of the students on the lips, the third doing so reluctantly.
The development had been condemned by many accepts some students of the college who identified themselves as Concern Students of St Monica’s College of Education.
According to them, the kiss was part of awards for deserving students.
The indicated the award recipient were given certificates, sums of money and the kisses and called on the matter to stay off the matter.
They also noted they stand with their priest and Chaplin in the amidst of the abuse on their right by same.
