A Senior Lecturer of the University of Professional Studies (UPS) in Accra, Dr Kwaku Mensah-Mawutor has said he is waiting for the day Ghanaian Members of Parliament will to go about their daily activities using commercial vehicles as done by the ordinary Ghanaians.
Speaking on Pan African TV’s Good Morning Africa on Wednesday, August 25, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said it was not beyond the MPs to do so since the practice was common in most developed countries.
“We are waiting for the day when MPs will go to parliament by commercial vehicles. It is not beyond them because lecturers, some of us go to our various offices using commercial vehicles, they are not beyond us”.
“Even in the UK where we go and borrow, some use their commercial trains, the railway system”.
According to the UPSA’s Dean of the School of Graduates, unless Ghana reach that point, the countries transportation system would remain same and added that we have to get to that point.
“You see, until we do this, these politicians will never develop our railway system. They will never develop our commercial means of transportation; we need to get to this day”.
