He said the Ghana Mining Expo has long acknowledged the interconnectedness between mining and other sectors of our national economy and the importance of engaging various stakeholders, particularly community members.
The Minister said throughout the years, they have aimed to foster a mining sector that positively impacts our society, economy, and environment.
He said, “This commitment remains unwavering as we move forward with this year’s event, guided by our chosen theme “Sustainable Mineral Resource Development & Well-being of Mining Communities,” It highlights our collective commitment to ensure that our mining activities do not compromise the well-being of our communities and the environment.”
“The 2023 Mining Week seeks the collaboration of all stakeholders to analyse the state of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of mining companies in Ghana, their impact on the host communities, and proffer best ways to regulate mining companies to commit to offering transformational CSR interventions as a means of creating generational prosperity for host mining communities,” he added.
