WR Minister promises Sekondi to Takoradi road dualization will begin next month
The Western Regional Minister, Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has assured citizens of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis that works will begin next month on one of the most talked-about projects in the region.
Speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show on Thursday, November 18, the minister acknowledged the delay and indicated it was due to some unresolved issue that has now been resolved.
Mr Okyere Darko then assured residents who have been plying the route, especially regular commuters of the deplorable Paa Grant Roundabout road that, works will begin next month and it will be before December 25, 2021.
According to the Minister who spoke to Skyy Power FM in mid-2021 concerning why the deplorable Paa Grant Roundabout road has not been fixed, he explained that from Paa Grant to Sekondi road will be dualised and for that matter, they cannot only fix that section since it will be a waste of money as it will be dualised and promised the project will begin in August 2021 but did not turn out to be so.
However, the Minister has promised again and has assured that citizens will see a massive redevelopment of that section of the road before December 25.
“You will see all trees at the sides of the roads being uprooted and houses exceeding their boundaries also demolished as the project begins,” he added.
