Agenda 111: How many of $15M can you find in a $100M – Yammin

The former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr Joseph Yammin has questioned how many hospitals the $1m announced by the government as seed capital for the agenda 111 hospital projects can build.

Speaking on Pan African TV’s Good Morning Africa on Thursday, August 19,  monitored by GhanaPlus.com  he  said the project as at this moment had no funding as the public had been made to believe adding that the one million earmarked for the project can only built only six out of  the 111 hospitals announced if the unit cost of the hospitals was anything to go by.

“When I listen to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah he tells me that 88 of these hospitals are going to be funded by government, the others are going to be funded by contraction of loans which means that as we speak with today, the funding for this project is not available. Government has only made available $100million for the commencement of this project and we are told that one project is going to cost as $15M, how many of $15M can you find in a $100M,” he quizzed.

“Which means that we are talking about six hospitals if this amount is available for the completion what about the others”.

He mentioned Ghanaians aught to be worried about the continuous promises by the government to provide projects which were not within its means.
