Agona West MP Receives Recognition from Sabone Zongo Muslim Community
Muslims in Swedru Sabone Zongo, have commended the Agona West Member of Parliament (MP), Mrs Cynthia Mamle Morrison, for her exemplary leadership and meritorious services to the entire Muslim community in the Constituency.
According to the Chiefs, Imams, Elders and the entire community, Mrs Morrison had shown classical leadership, selfless and truthful services since she became representative of the people of Agona West in Parliament eight years ago.
The Swedru Sabone Zongo Muslim leaders, therefore held special prayers and thanksgiving service in her honour for her meritorious services at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
The MP was said to have facilitated a sponsorship package for Sabone Zongo Imam, Alhaji Omali to embark on a trip to Mecca, the Holy Land of Muslims in August this year.
Addressing the gathering after the prayers, Alhaji Iddris Sory, Agona West Municipal Chief Imam, expressed gratitude to the MP for her selfless, and dedicated services rendered to Muslims in the Constituency.
The Chief Imam urged Mrs Morrison “to forgive those who have done evil against her” as many people attested to her truthful work in Parliament.
The Agona West Chief Imam said that Imams in the four Muslim Communities in the Municipality would continue to pray to Allah to bring peace, blessings, joy, love, and happiness to the inhabitants of the area as the nation prepared for the 2024 elections.
Alhaji Sory said Muslims would continue to extend their support and prayers to the MP and urged her not to seek revenge since vengeance came from Allah who made heaven and earth.
Mrs Morrison thanked the Imams, Chiefs, and all Muslims in Agona West for their love, dedication and support and pledged to continue to render selfless services to them.
The MP said she had heeded to the advice given by the Imams to forgive those who undermined her, adding that she could not be disrupted from contesting as an Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West.
Mrs Morrison hinted that her contributions and support to Muslims in the constituency would never end, adding that next year Agona Nyakrom Chief Imam would be given sponsorship package to facilitate his trip to Mecca.
She pledged that her dreams, visions, and aspirations for Agona West, especially for the chiefs and entire inhabitants would be continued to help aid their socio-economic advancement.
The MP said she would soon come to the Zongos to canvass for votes as an Independent Candidate for Agona West to enable her to retain the seat to continue her services to the electorates.
