Ahanta West MP inspects development projects
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahanta West Constituency in the Western Region, Mr Ebenezer Kojo Kum has inspected some ongoing projects being executed in his Constituency.
The inspection was to among others ascertain the progress of work made on the various projects dotted across the constituency and the challenges the contractors were encountering.
Mr Kum and his entourage inspected a new market under construction at Apowa, Trauma Center at Apimanim, Egyambra – Miemia Road, Ankyenyim – Egyam Road, Apowa – Mpohor Road, Dixcove – Alwidai Road, Abode – Aketekyire – Butre Roads and Male and Female Ward at the Apowa Health Post.
The MP was accompanied by Mr John Agyare, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Anthony Nketsia Kofi, Ahanta West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, and some staff of the Municipal Assembly.
He interacted with some of the residents in the beneficiary communities and some workers on the projects sites and encouraged them to do a good job to get the projects ready on schedule.
Mr Kum urged the community members to offer their support to the contractors to enable them to execute the work quickly and also implored them to present all their grievances to the Municipal Assembly to better the quality of life for the citizens in the Constituency.
Speaking in an interview with the GNA after the inspection, Mr Kum expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the end of the tour and urged all contractors to work ahead of schedule.
He stressed that all the ongoing projects in the constituency would be completed looking at the investor potential opportunities like tourism and the fact that the constituency was becoming a gateway to the region as Sekondi-Takoradi was choked.
Mr Kum said many of the town roads and alleys would be given a facelift to enhance business activities in the constituency.
For his part, Mr John Agyare said regular site visits and supervisions would be conducted to make sure that the projects were not stalled while making sure that value for the investments was achieved.
He asked for the support and cooperation of the residents along with the beneficiary communities and promised to see to it that all projects by his predecessor were done to satisfaction and completed on time.
