Almost a quarter of the world’s arable lands are in Africa, yet we are told we can’t feed ourselves because of Russia-Ukraine war

Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr has said any African leader who blames the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war for the continent inability to feed itself should been shown the exit by its citizens.
Speaking on Pan African TV‘s Good Morning Africa on Thursday, August 11, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said Africa is blessed with about a quarter of the world’s productive lands hence the assertion that our current predicament are as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war cannot be the truth.
He added the assertion is an affront to the continent and its citizens and such leaders must be sacked quickly.
“The interesting this that about almost a quarter of arable lands are in the world are in Africa, yet our leaders are telling us that because of the Ukrainian war we can’t feed ourselves. …So any Africa leader who comes out to say that because of Russia-Ukraine war we can’t feed ourselves has engage in some indictment, he should be sacked quickly because we have more favourable condition for production of food than Ukraine,” Mr Pratt Jnr said.
Ghana blames its financial owes on Russia-Ukraine war
African countries, Ghana most especially have blamed its current economic predicament on the Russia- Ukraine war which begun early this.
Government and its communicators have argued the high cost of living which has become a source of worry for many Ghanaians is as a result of the war and also the covid-19 pandemic which affected the world in 2019.
However, speaking on Pan African TV, Mr Kwesi Pratt is of the view its about that African leaders utilize the countries resources to the benefits of its citizens and stop blame Russia and Ukraine.
