“Ashanti Region Deserves More Than Promises”… Former Security Chief Questions NPP’s Commitment to Development
Former Ashanti Regional National Security Coordinator, Mr. Enoch Nsiah Amoako, has raised concerns over the NPP government’s unfinished infrastructure projects, casting doubt on its commitment to the Ashanti Region.
Addressing the Suame Interchange, Kejetia Market expansion, and Boankra Inland Port, Nsiah Amoako described these projects as “mere political stunts” aimed at garnering votes without concrete plans for timely completion.
Speaking at a media engagement in Kumasi, he argued that while the NPP continues to pledge development, key projects remain stagnant, harming the region’s potential for growth.
Mr. Nsiah Amoako asserted that the NDC administration had historically delivered on its promises in the
Ashanti Region, urging voters to support a party with a track record of fulfilling its pledges. He called on the residents of Asanteman to reject “deceptive tactics” and elect leaders genuinely committed to progress, citing the urgent need for reliable infrastructure that fosters economic and social growth.
Mr. Nsiah Amoako highlighted projects such as the Suame Interchange, the expansion of the Kejetia Market, and the Boankra Inland Port, all of which remain unfinished despite numerous public
announcements.
“These projects, including the Suame Interchange and Boankra Inland Port, are more about show than substance,” he stated.
According to Nsiah Amoako, the NPP has repeatedly “cut sod” for these projects without meaningful follow-up, leaving residents disappointed and skeptical about the government’s intentions.
Nsiah Amoako’s criticisms come at a time when the Ashanti Region’s infrastructure needs are increasingly urgent. Traffic congestion, limited market space, and the need for efficient cargo transport options are daily challenges for many residents.
Nsiah Amoako argues that if these projects were genuinely prioritized, the region would see significant economic and social benefits.
“The NDC has consistently invested in the development of the Ashanti Region. We’ve seen what’s possible with committed leadership. It’s time the people of Asanteman choose a government that will actually deliver,” he declared.
As the election approaches, Nsiah Amoako’s comments are likely to fuel voter expectations for accountability and tangible development results.
He urged the people of Asanteman to evaluate political parties not by promises but by delivered projects, positioning the NDC as a party ready to meet the region’s development demands.
