Aspiring NPP Regional Secretary pledges to resource party officers

Mr Charles Cobbina, Western Regional Secretary hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reiterated that he shall work with the leadership of the party to provide the needed training and resources for all officers to prosecute an effective campaign aimed at winning back seats that were lost in the last elections and even more, when given the nod.
He said he will begin his administration by providing laptops with modems for all Constituency Secretaries and their deputies, Communication Officers as well as Research and Election Officers.
Mr Cobbina who made the statement when sharing his vision for the party at a media encounter in Takoradi indicated that the desire to resource the party officers will require bringing back party officials, who were aggrieved due to conflicts before, during and after the party’s internal elections.
He, therefore, noted that prompt and effective communication and research was dependent on access to modern devices and technology for swift communication.
“That is why I have committed to resourcing these officers of our party to ensure smooth and quick information flow”, he emphasized.
According to him, after travelling throughout the region during the campaign process to share his message and vision for the party and to solicit the support of the hardworking and dedicated delegates, it has come to clear that the party leaders at the constituency level were determined to make history come 2024.
Their determination, he said gives credence to his avowed resolve to resource the party and motivates its officers at the Polling Station, Electoral Area, Constituency and Region to prosecute a campaign that has not been witnessed in the region.
The aspirant maintained that he will anchor the ‘breaking the eight (8)’ on the good health of the party executives at all levels in the region and cited a situation where he set up the Ahwenepa Nkasa Health Tent to enable participants to check their health status during a party conference in Tarkwa.
He announced that the health tent will reach out to all the constituencies in the region to enable all party officers at that level to check their health status and remain fit for the task ahead in doing the business of campaigning ahead of the 2024 elections.
Mr Cobbina contended that ‘breaking the 8’ was not a small endeavor and must therefore approach it by choosing a secretary who was competent, experienced, inclusive, innovative, and mature.
“We need a secretary who can calm nerves and bring the party together for the task ahead. We need a secretary who can think on his feet in the heat of the battle. We need a secretary who can make the needed adjustment and stimulate our teams to remain committed to the end. That is no other than myself”, he emphasized.
