Assin North Assembly to focus on road network
Mr. Charles Ohene Andoh, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North, has expressed the Assembly’s commitment to develop the road network in the district.
It will therefore ensure that all outstanding road projects were vigorously pursued to the latter, to boost business and economics activities in the district.
The roads include, Bereku town roads, Akonfudi town roads, Kushea road network, Sienchiem roads, Akonfudi -Akpoli- Ningo road, and Odumasi junction to Asibrim.
He gave the assurance in his sessional address during the Assembly’s ordinary meeting at Assin Bereku, the district capital.
He said his focus was anchored on four thematic areas; Road Development, Basic Education Development, Youth Development and Sanitation.
On education, he underscored that the Region was endowed with great schools and will therefore engage all stakeholders to work assiduously to ensure that teaching and learning in basic schools were enhanced.
He tasked teachers to adequately prepare the students to enable them get admission into the best schools in the Region.
To this end, he tasked the District Director of Education to step up rigorous supervision in schools to check teacher absenteeism and lackadaisical attitude towards work.
On sanitation, Mr Ohene Andoh, said the district will re-visit its monthly ‘sanitation day campaign and operation clean the highways’ to clean the district and also plant ornamental trees along the main roads to beautify the communities and towns.
The district will also organize skill training for the teeming unemployed youth, women and young men for skill acquisition to enable them fit into the job market and become self-reliant.
