Auntie Chavez: A pillar of strength for the good old days, a sold confidant of Atta-Mills –Anyidoho eulogies

The Chief Executive Officer of the Atta-Mills Institute,Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has paid glowing tribute to the memory of the late former Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Ms Ama Benyiwa-Doe.

In a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com, he said, the staunch member of the party affectionately known by rank and file as Auntie Ama Chavez was a pillar of strength for the good old days.

Mr Anyidoho a, former aid to the late President of Ghana, Prof Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills and former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC also described the late Benyiwa-Doe as a confident of his late boss, a true fearless patriot, a nationalist and courageous.

“A true fearless patriot & nationalist. A woman of valour in every sense of the word. A pillar of strength for the good old solid days of the PNDC/NDC; and a solid confidant of President Atta Mills. Untie Ama Chavez: I salute you for serving Ghana well. We shall meet one day”.

Ama Benyiwa-Doe passes on

Ama Benyiwa-Doe, a member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) and former Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency was reported dead early Sunday morning.

The Central Regional native and a former Minister of the region died at age 71.

Ama Benyiwa-Doe on Allotey Jacobs

Until her reported dead, the 1992 through to 2012 active politician had been missing in the political scenes for a while, however, stage a few comeback following the suspension of the former Central Region Chairman of the party, Mr Bernard Allotey Jacobs and it accompanying brouhaha.

She was last heard on March 17 this year when she said “Allotey doesn’t have any influence on the NDC, he only adds up to the numbers,”

 “Allotey Jacobs’ sole interest was to make money and now he feels he is okay so he is biting the hand that fed him,” she told Akoma FM.
