Ayine Accuses NPP Rival of Deceptive Tactics Ahead of 2024 Parliamentary Race

Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the longstanding Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East and current NDC candidate, has accused his main competitor, Mathew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), of employing deceptive tactics to gain support in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In a speech delivered after submitting his nomination forms for the December 7, 2024 elections, Dr Ayine criticized Amoah for portraying himself as a philanthropist while allegedly failing to address the constituency’s needs genuinely.

“My rival is trying to deceive the people by presenting himself as benevolent. He claims to be helping the community but abandons those in need when they seek his help,” Ayine said.

Dr Ayine also addressed criticisms regarding his temperament, defending his stance as “righteous anger.”

He explained that his passionate responses are driven by a genuine concern for the welfare of his constituents.

“When I express anger, it’s because I am deeply troubled by the injustices and issues in our constituency.

I do not get angry without cause. My anger is a response to the unacceptable actions and deceptions around us,” he added.

The Bolgatanga East Constituency, established in 2012, has traditionally been a stronghold of the NDC, with Dr Ayine serving as its MP since its inception.

Despite his longstanding tenure, he now faces significant competition from Amoah, who has made considerable efforts to build a robust support base in the area.
