Director of Legal Affairs of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe has slam the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Mr Bryan Acheampong following his outburst on a campaign platform over the weekend.
Mr Acheampong while addressing NPP sympathizers at Nsawam in the Eastern Region said the party remain resolute in winning the 2024 elections by all means.
“I have said that whether the NDC likes it not, they will never win the 2024 elections. They would not win. You can check their records. They would not win. The NPP would win the elections. The NPP exists to win elections.
So, we would do whatever it takes to win the elections. We are a political party that has pastors, imams, and traditionalists so whatever means we would take to win the elections, we would do so. ‘Go and burn the sea if you don’t understand, we’ll win and continue with our good works”, he noted.
Bryan Acheampong has always been a coward, I know him too well
But speaking on Big Issue on TV3 Newday on Monday, August 12, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, Edudzi Tamakloe said the statement was reckless and completely irresponsible.
He described him as a coward adding that he knows him too well hence he was not surprise with his utterances.
“I have always known Bryan for a while, he is a coward. Bryan has always been a coward. He has never taking responsibly for anything. I know him too well. Look, many years ago he decided to contest the NPP primaries in Suhum. In fact against Opare Ansah. Go and find out why he run away from Suhum to Abetifi. He thought he could go to Suhum with violence. What happened on the street of Suhum is what cause him to run away to Abetifi so am not surprise he is talking this reckless,” Edudzi Tamakloe said.
“He said that the Ghanaian does not matter and so all the NPP is looking for is malams, prophets, men of God among other things. Religion, because the NPP believes that religion is the opium of the masses and so pastors can just come, fetish priest can come with their bodua and people will start voting for NPP like conveyor belt”.
“Mr Bryan Acheampong, what you don’t know is that in this country, you went out to buy SSNIT properties, Ghanaian pensioners’ property, pension holders, what happen? You run away. If you have not learnt anything from the SSNIT hotel episode, then excuse my language, you are not learning. And at you age I expect you to be a good example, if not for anybody, your own children. Look, you are a business owner, you have properties, you speak so recklessly, have you not watch hotel Rwanda before Mr Bryan Aheampong?,” the NDC member quiz.
