Chief linguist lauds MP’s commitment for improved education
Nana Kyeame Asamoah, the Akyeamehene ( Chief Linguist) of Yamfo Traditional Area has lauded the sterling commitment of Dr Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North towards the growth and development of education in the area.
He described the MP’s efforts in improving educational infrastructure, particularly in basic and SHSs as exceptional, and commended Dr Prempeh for her continuous support towards the growth and development of the Yamfo SHS.
Nana Asamoah gave the commendation, when Dr Prempeh, also the Minister of State in-charge of Works and Housing inspected work on the construction of a girl’s dormitory for the school at Yamfo in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
Dr Prempeh is putting up the GH¢1.8 million two-storey dormitory block to enable the school to admit more boarding students, and provide decent accommodation for the girls as well.
The Reverend Canon Barnabas Kofi Oko, the Headmaster of the Yamfo Anglican Senior High School (SHS) said the school required infrastructure development not only to facilitate effective teaching and learning, but also to make it attractive.
He appealed to the MP to also ensure some on-going projects in the school were completed.
On her part, Dr Prempeh said she was impressed with the level of work done so far, and asked the contractors to speed up for the completion of the project.
She assured to work hard and provide an enabling environment for academic work to progress in the school, and thereby enhance student’s performances as well.
