TV3’s broadcaster and NewDay host, Mr Johnnie Beresford Hughes has advice the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to cut down on the number of older persons in his administration this year.
According to him, it is wrong for the president to accommodate older persons when there are many gifted young people in his administration walking ideal.
The renowed broadcaster gave the advice on Johnnie’s Bite on TV3 NewDay monitored by GhanaPlus.com on Tuesday, January 4.
Mr Hughes said, although older persons may have played significant roles in the life of the president prior to his presidency, their relevant in his government have not been impactful and it was about time he let them go and choose younger hands to help him succeed.
He maintained the impact of the older persons will only be felt if they take up supersizing and assist young persons who are in the realm of affairs to run the country.
“Again Mr President, in 2022 cut down on the old people bridge; yes they are your friends we know. They were there when nobody was with you, they believed in, We know Mr President, we acknowledge that you cherish your friendships but how productive have they been, that the question, what is their score card. Analyse the scandals that has hit your government and tell me how many o them were not committed by old people. Old experience hands what role did they play in that”.
“How can you Mr President have a lot young people gifted and ready and be sitting ideal. How, hold on, Mr President, how is that possible. Look at somebody as Dr Oko Boye , You had three people at the health Ministry, Mr Kweku Agyeman Manu who is an accountant , Mr Tina Mensah who is an entrepreneur, and there is another lawyer when the COVid -9 pandemic hit the three of them couldn’t explain it . When Oko Boye came in you saw the dynamism it was Okoye Boye who explained to me on this platform about the horizontal and vertical infections and head immunity added to what Dr Ishmael Norman and others have said,” Johnnie Hughes said.
