Disqualified NPP Aspirant Ahmed Zaruk Nuhu Decides Against Independent Run

Ahmed Zaruk Nuhu, the disqualified parliamentary aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bimbilla constituency, has announced that he will not pursue an independent candidacy in the upcoming elections.

Zaruk, who was disqualified from challenging the incumbent MP and Minister for Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, had faced considerable backlash from his supporters.

The disqualification triggered unrest among constituents, especially the youth, who protested by vandalizing the party’s office.

Despite initial calls from supporters urging him to run as an independent candidate, Zaruk, also known locally as “Sokam Zaruk,” has opted against this route.

After consulting with party elders and opinion leaders, Zaruk confirmed that he does not plan to contest the elections independently.

In a statement, Zaruk reaffirmed his loyalty to the NPP and expressed his commitment to the party’s ideals. He also addressed rumours suggesting that he had been offered money to avoid an independent run, firmly denying these claims.

Zaruk thanked his supporters and the people of Bimbilla for their steadfast support and assured them of his ongoing dedication to their interests.
