The Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Edem Agbana has made public his intention to contest the Ketu North Parliamentary seat when the party opens nominations for parliamentary hopefuls elections ahead of the 2024 elections 

According to him, the constituency current represented by the NDC’s James Klutse Avedzi deserves a better representation in his absent hence his decision to take over the mantle from the party’s stalwart who also doubles as the Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament.

He said, Mr Klutse Avedzi, has announced his decision to step down as Ketu North’s MP when his tenure ends in 2024 having served the constituency since 2005.

Edem Agbana made public his intention on TV3 NewDay on Tuesday, October 4, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

“Am sure by now, you are aware that I will be contesting for the parliamentary primaries and hopefully in 2025 i will be sworn in as Member of Parliament for Ketu North so I have been in the constituency working so hard to get an overwhelming victory when the primaries are open so I am around working towards the party,” he said .

“I believe also that the people in Ketu North deserve an effective representation in parliament, especially, as our MP, the Hon James Klutse Avedzi who happens to be our Deputy Minority Leader also announced formally that he will not be contesting, it is important to give Ketu North an effective representation in parliament as well and that is why I decided to moved there,” Edem Agbana added.
