The Deputy National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Elvis Banoemuleng Botah has caution excitement over the agenda 111 hospitals project being undertaken by the government should be in moderation until the project is completed.

Speaking on Good Morning Africa on Pan African TV on Wednesday, August 18 and monitored by GhanaPlus.com he said I agree largely with honorable Yammin on the basis that the excitement should be in moderation so that there can even be more excitement only at a time when there is realization of the deliverables of the project”.

He said the project, although laudable comes with risk of abandonment due to funding and urged government to do it best to ensure resources were mobilized for its completion.

Agenda 111 Commence on Tuesday

Mr Botah was speaking about the agenda 111 hospitals project commenced by the government on Tuesday, August 17.

The project, would see to the design, procurement, construction, equipping and commissioning of 101 District Hospitals, 6 Regional Hospitals in newly created regions, as well as 1 Regional Hospital in the Western Region, 2 Psychiatric Hospitals in Kumasi and Tamale and a redeveloped Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The hospitals when completed is expected to have state of the art surgical theaters for maternity, obstetrics and gynecology, a full complement of male, female, pediatric and isolation wards, among others.

NDC, NPP throw banter over Agenda 111

The project since it announcement has thrown the two major political parties , the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the National Democratic Congress(NDC) into exchange of words over its feasibility.
