Godwin Agudey retained as Ada East District Presiding Member
The Ada East District Assembly has retained Mr Godwin Agudey as the Presiding Member to serve his second term after the second round of voting.
Mr Agudey, who was the sole contender for the position, in accordance with the laws must go through affirmation vote “Yes” and “No” to secure a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting.
Mr Agudey failed to secure two-thirds of the total votes cast by the Assembly Members, which resulted in the second voting.
Mr Fred Bubune Kpodo, the Coordinating Director of the Assembly, commended the Assembly members for the peaceful election of the Presiding Member for the work of the Assembly to progress.
Ms Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, the Ada-East District Chief Executive, lauded the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in the Presiding Member and urged him to continue to work for the betterment of the Ada-East District Assembly.
She urged the Assembly Members to come together, share experiences, and forge ahead for the development of the Assembly.
Mr Agudey expressed gratitude to the members for the confidence reposed in him to lead the Assembly for the second term.
He commended the District Chief Executive, the Coordinating Director and other stakeholders for their support during his first term and assured the members that he would work hard to ensure the Assembly met the needs of the people.
He appealed to members to team up with him to advance the cause of the district and pleaded with them to forgive him for any mistake he did that offended any of them.
