“Kennedy Agyapong Is the Best Candidate; Let’s Vote for Him” – Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers
A cross-section of spare parts dealers at Abossey Okai, one of Ghana’s largest commercial and industrial hubs, has openly endorsed Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ongoing flagbearer race, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead the party back to power in the 2028 general elections.
The traders, drawn from various sections of the sprawling Abossey Okai spare parts enclave in Accra, said their support follows careful consideration of the leadership qualities, political experience, and economic vision of the five candidates contesting the party’s presidential slot.
According to the dealers, the NPP requires a leader who is firm, disciplined, and fearless in decision-making, particularly at a time when the party is seeking to reorganize, rebuild confidence among its grassroots, and reconnect with the ordinary Ghanaian.
They stated firmly that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong possesses the capacity to transform the economy and create sustainable jobs for the masses, especially for young people and artisans who form the backbone of Ghana’s informal and small-scale business sector.
The traders pointed to Mr. Agyapong’s background in private enterprise and manufacturing, arguing that his understanding of business challenges, taxation, access to capital, and local production gives him a practical advantage in addressing unemployment and stimulating economic growth.
“Abossey Okai is made up of traders, artisans, mechanics, and apprentices.
We understand business, and we know who can help grow it. Kennedy Agyapong has the mindset to fix the economy and create jobs for the youth,” one of the traders said.
They further noted that the outspoken politician’s emphasis on accountability, discipline, and productivity would help restore internal cohesion within the NPP and strengthen the party’s appeal ahead of the 2028 elections.
As a result, the group has called on delegates across the country to massively vote for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in the NPP’s internal elections scheduled for Saturday, urging them to prioritize competence, firmness, and economic recovery in their decision-making.
In a strong show of support, the traders adopted the slogan “No Kennedy, No Vote,” describing it as a reflection of their confidence in his leadership and their belief that he offers the party its best chance of electoral victory.
The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer contest is being keenly contested by five candidates, including former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, as the party positions itself for the 2028 general elections.
The outcome of the contest is expected to play a critical role in shaping the NPP’s political direction and campaign strategy as it seeks to regain the confidence of voters nationwide.
