Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has declared his business experience essential for transforming Ghana’s economy, stating this during his birthday celebration.

The New Patriotic Party flagbearer aspirant criticized previous leaders as lacking practical wealth-creation skills.

]”We need someone pragmatic, not bookish. A leader who can identify economic opportunities,” Agyapong told attendees.

He specifically referenced Ghana’s untapped agricultural potential: “We have arable lands to create youth jobs. Current leaders can’t turn it around, but I will if given the opportunity.”

Agyapong formally announced his NPP leadership bid, aiming to contest the 2028 general election against the National Democratic Congress.

His remarks frame business expertise as central to his political appeal, occurring as Ghana debates economic diversification strategies amid persistent challenges in agricultural value-chain development and youth unemployment.
