NDC Blows Alarm Over ‘Bloated Register’
The Akontombra National Democratic Congress has questioned the Ghana Electoral Commission over vote transfers in the 2024 electoral register.
The NDC believes EC has added figures above what is expected in the register.
According to the party chairman, Appiah Joseph, the total number of voters who transferred their vote to Akontombra was 1904.
He explained that, through the exhibition, they found that numbers have been increased to 2595 which shows that 691 voters have been allegedly added from unknown sources.
The NDC called on the Electoral Commission to audit its register and explain the reasons for the unusually inflated voter register.
Mr. Appiah Joseph said the party had documents as evidence to support their claims.
The Parliamentary Candidate for NDC in Akontombra, Hon. Pious Kwame Nkuah, asked the Electoral Commission to clean up the electoral register or voting will not happen in Sefwi Akontombra on 7th December.
He also said the NDC will work with the electorates to protect the ballot boxes and resist any attempts by the Electoral Commission to manipulate the December polls.
He urged Ghanaians to go to their respective polling stations nationwide and cast their votes in favor of the NDC come December 7.
