The Ayawaso North Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Tahiru Ahmed has been expelled for breaching an article of the party’s constitution.
A statement issued by the Greater Accra Secretary of the party, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, on Thursday, October 29 said Mr. Tahiru was expelled by the party’s Regional Executive Committee for breaching Article 46(8) of the party’s constitution.
He is to subsequently, hand over all the party’s properties in his possession to the Vice-Chairman of the Constituency to act in his stead.
What warranted his expulsion by his party less than two months to the country’s December election is yet to be disclosed but it is believed that the party’s decision was based on accusations he made against the National Vice Chairman of the party, Alhaji Said Sinari, over alleged importation of some arms and ammunition into the country to perpetrate violence.

NDC National Vice Chairman Invited by Police for supplying ammunition to supporters
Reports went round yesterday that National Vice-Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Said Sinare has been invited by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly supplying weapons to supporters of the party for use during the December elections.
The accusations, the report said was made by Tahiru, whose relationship with the National Vice Chairman had gone sour weeks now.
Alhaji Sinare speaking to his invitation by the police said “He is the Ayawaso North Constituency Chairman. He is my boy and I groomed him. He is my employee, and he has been working for me for the past 8 years and I fired him exactly about five weeks ago because of so many reasons.”
“That blackmail will never work because I am a very clean person with a good track record. I am not going to cause mayhem anywhere, I have been preaching peace everywhere I go,” he added.
