NPP Candidate Hannah Asamoah Donates Jerseys and Footballs Ahead of Agona Nsaba Akwambo Festival
The the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Agona East, Mrs Hannah Asamoah has presented 10 sets of jerseys and footballs to the Agona Nsaba Traditional Council ahead of the 2024 Annual Akwambo Festival.
The donation formed part of the PC’s contributions to motivate the football teams at Nsaba participating in the gala competition which is part of the 12-day Akwambo Festival.
Making the presentation, Mrs Asamoah expressed the need to harness the many football talents at Nsaba township and the entire Agona East District and to help develop the sports.
The festival, commenced on Sunday, October 20 and would be climaxed with a grand durbar on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
The PC assured that the foot field which would be used for the competition would be reshaped to ensure level playing field for the smooth participation of the various teams.
She said all deplorable roads would be rehabilitated to give facelift to the town to ensure free vehicular movement during the period.
Mrs Asamoah said the women’s day and cooking competition on Saturday, October 26, would be grand and urged all in the Area to participate.
She announced that she had engaged the National Health Insurance Authority at Agona Swedru to register and issue new cards and renew expired ones free of charge for all women and their children who would participate in the cooking competition as side attraction.
The PC assured the Omanhene and entire residents of Agona Nsaba that her team would fully participate in the festival and offer financial and logistical support.
The Omanhene of Nsaba, Okeseku Afari Mintah III, expressed gratitude to the NPP PC for the donation of the jerseys and footballs to the various clubs which would take part in the competition.
The Overlord of Nsaba Traditional Area said football match brought unity and togetherness among the people despite their religious and political differences.
Okeseku Atari Mintah urged all residents of Nsaba both home and abroad to participate in the Annual Festival aimed at raising funds to complete a multipurpose community center project which started last year.
