NPP Communications Director Accuses Mahama of Being Out of Touch
Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for being disconnected from the current realities facing Ghanaians, reaffirming the NPP’s commitment to the people.
Ahiagbah suggested that Mahama either has a short memory or needs to remember that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration is already implementing many of the initiatives he proposed in his recent manifesto.
Following the NDC’s manifesto launch on August 24 in Winneba, Ahiagbah promptly took to his X platform to express his views, highlighting the immediate relevance of his critique.
He described Mahama’s proposals as repetitive, alleging that they merely echo critical elements of the NPP’s manifesto but are presented with different phrasing to seem original.
Ahiagbah added, “Ghanaians experienced Mahama’s presidency from January 7, 2013, to January 7, 2017, and the consensus was a clear rejection of his leadership.”
Ahiagbah’s comments, which highlight ongoing tensions and criticisms between the NPP and NDC, are significant as both parties campaign for the upcoming elections.
Below is his full post…
John Mahama appears to be out of touch with the realities facing Ghanaians. It seems he either has a short memory or has entirely forgotten that many of the key initiatives he is proposing are already being implemented by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, which he claims has done nothing.
Mahama’s latest proposals seem to be a mere repetition of the essential parts of the NPP Manifesto, embellished with different wording to appear original but lacking any fresh ideas. Ghanaians witnessed Mahama’s presidency from 7th January 2013 to 7th January 2017, and the collective judgment was a decisive rejection.
What is new this time seems to be a rebranded attempt to deceive Ghanaians, much like a so-called miracle herbal remedy being marketed as a cure-all for every challenge facing the country.
This raises several critical questions:
- Where does John Mahama plan to find the funding for all the free initiatives he promises, especially when he claims the economy is bankrupt?
- Is Mahama aware that Starlink will be operational in Ghana by the end of August 2024?
- Does he know that automobile assembly is already underway in Ghana?
- Is he aware that the current government has been heavily investing in free Technical and Vocational Education and Training since 2022?
- When did Mahama suddenly realize that traditional grammar schools are outdated?
This first-half presentation by Mahama raises more questions than answers. The whole “Reset” campaign appears to be nothing more than an effort to mislead Ghanaians into thinking the NDC is offering a new version. Ghana will not return to the tried and failed leadership of John Mahama. We will not buy the Reset to go back. We are moving forward to a future of possibilities…
