Henry Baker, a New Patriotic Party polling station chairman in Simpa, has asserted the party will reclaim power in 2028 despite its recent electoral defeat.

In an Adwenpa FM interview, Baker acknowledged grassroots disappointment with the NPP’s failure to secure a third consecutive term while maintaining unwavering confidence in the party’s resurgence.

Baker alleged local constituents blame party leadership for inadequate strategic direction. “After the significant defeat, people in Simpa held our leaders accountable. They believe the party could have been guided better,” he stated. The chairman confirmed this triggered internal reflections among rank-and-file members.

“This is not the first time we’ve lost power. We lost before and came back. We will come back again in 2028,” Baker declared, referencing the NPP’s history of electoral recovery.

When questioned about his political future, the chairman signaled ambitions beyond his current role. “I will continue to serve, but chairmanship is too small for me. I can even take on the role of coordinator,” he revealed, indicating plans to pursue more influential positions within the party’s restructuring efforts.

Baker’s comments emerge as the NPP initiates post-election reorganization, mirroring its traditional pattern of grassroots mobilization following electoral setbacks since 2008.
