Queen Mothers Urge Effective Adoption Of Artificial Intelligence

The National Queen Mothers’ Platform (QMP)-Ghana has called on the youth not only to make effective and efficient use of Artificial Intelligence tools but also to ensure that AI has a positive impact on their overall development, in particular, and on society in general. According to the Queen Mothers, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has its pros and cons, urging the youth to be wary of it.
The Executive Secretary of the Platform, Nana Yaa Ansua who is also the Paramount Queen Mother of the Drobo Traditional Area in the Bono Region, speaking to the media during the second quarterly meeting of the National Executive Committee of the QMP in Accra, encouraged the youth to use the positive sides of AI to improve their lot.

On behalf of the Association, she was grateful to the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the government for giving the opportunity to some of the members of the platform to serve on some boards, committees, and institutions across the country. In her view, such a gesture is a recognition of the fact that the role of women in nation-building cannot be overemphasized.

According to the National President of the Platform and Paramount Queen Mother of the Osudoku Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, Nana Amponsah Dokua III, the meeting was to strengthen their roles and responsibilities as Queen Mothers in their traditional areas.
She also used the opportunity to express their gratitude to their partners, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), COLANDEF Land and Property Rights, and many others who, in diverse ways, helped to build and nurture the Association to its current state. She called on other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and agencies to equally support the development and empowerment of women in their traditional areas, urging the government to further pursue the inclusivity of women in national policymaking, amongst others.

The Executives also appealed to the government to build a recognized house of Queen Mothers to enable them to come under one umbrella to steer the affairs of children and women in general.
The Paramount Queen Mother of the Denkyira Traditional Area and Treasurer of the Platform, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, also expressed concern about the issue of misinformation and disinformation and urged Queen Mothers to be wary of such a development, including fake news.
