The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that contrary to Mr Allotey Jacobs assertion that his expulsion from the party was belated, report on his expulsion was ready before he announced his self dismissal from the party.

According to him, processes to expunge him from the party began some three month ago, which he was very much aware of as such his supposed self dismissal was preempted to save his face from the possible outcome which was evident to him.

“His case did not start yesterday, his case started more than 3month ago. In fact before his announcement, the report had been received by the Disciplinary Committee recommending his expulsion so he thought he was being smart in taken a decision that will preempt his action”.

Mr Asiedu Nketia made the revelation in an interview with TV3’ Komla Adom on Midday News on Wednesday, March 4, Monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

He mentioned his announcement does not in any way stops the party from the processes which were already in motion and added that he was given a fair hearing during the process.

“We don’t stop a process that had been initiated because somebody had gone to a radio to make one or two announcement”.

“He has been investigated; he has been given an opportunity for fair hearing and recommendation has been issue through the party so if at that point he got up to announce his resignation from the party, it was a just merely preempting a decision that had already been taken and that will not stop the communication of the decision to him so that is precisely what we have done”.

Mr Asiedu Nketia noted the party had no provision for re-admission of expelled members but noted such persons can re-apply as new members if they wish to return to the party.
