Republic Bank Ghana PLC Elects New Director at 34th AGM

Shareholders of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC ratified key governance changes during its 34th Annual General Meeting held virtually from Accra’s Republic Court on June 25, 2025.
The assembly elected Mr. Baldath Ramkissoon as a new director while re-electing three outgoing board members: Prof. Vera Ogeh Lassey Fiador, Mr. Jonathan Prince Cann, and Mr. Joseph Yaw Asumang.
Investors formally adopted the bank’s 2024 audited financial statements and directors’ report, alongside ratifying auditors’ remuneration for the past fiscal year. The board also secured authorization to determine audit fees for 2025—a procedural step aligning with Ghana’s Companies Act.
The resolutions reinforce leadership stability amid Ghana’s ongoing banking sector reforms under President Mahama’s NDC administration, which has prioritized corporate governance compliance since 2024. Republic Bank, operating in Ghana since 2015, maintains its position among the country’s tier-1 financial institutions.
