Koku Anyidoho gives Asiedu Nketia, NDC 72hr ultimatum to retract expulsion

The suspended member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) , Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has given the General Secretary of the party, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia a 72hour ultimatum to retract his expulsion notice in the public domain or face legal action.

The former Deputy General Secretary of the party is also demanding from the General Secretary to set aside the recommendations made by the Disciplinary Committee of the party, the basis for his expulsion.

“As a conscience individual whose sentiments are rooted in equity and fairness, I demand as a matter of urgency that you within 72hours of receipts of this response unequivocally retract the purported notice of my expulsion given to the media and circulated to unsuspected Ghanaians and similarly set aside the recommendations of the National Disciplinary Committee as same as founded on an illegality and is void abs initio”.

“I hope that you shall accede to my demands such that in line with the spirit of the Constitution of the NDC we are able to bring finality to matter internally. Else I shall be forced to seek redress in the court of law that are characteristically not partial to exercise fairness in this matter,” the letter reads.

Mr Anyidoho made the demands in a letter sighted by GhanaPlus.com and copied to party’s Chairperson, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Council of Elders , National Executive Committee, Functional Executive Committee, Speaker of Parliament and Council of State Member, E.T Mensah.

Other recipients of the letter were the Leader of Minority Group in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu and Chairman, Volta Region Caucus in Parliament.

I remain an NDC Member

The NDC loyalist noted he remained a member of the party and shall not be push out for any malicious reasons.

“Finally, I state again and unequivocally that I continue to remain a loyal member and committed member of the NDC and I shall not allow my reputation to be targeted and for the political expediency of others”

 “I shall not be pushed out of the NDC for reasons borne out of nothing but malicious perfidy”.

NDC sacks Koku Anyidoho over misconduct

Mr Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy Secretary of the largest opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was suspended some six month ago and expelled from the party subsequently following a complaint of misconduct and anti-party brought against him by two members of the party.

The decision was as a result of his social media outburst and utterances which some members deem it as an opposition to the party, its leaderships and its ideologies.

A letter announcing his expulsion said he was found guilty of misconduct and anti-party behavior by the Disciplinary Committee of the party.

“The committee’s report (which is attached for your perusal) found you guilty of the allegations of misconduct and anti party behavior and recommended your outright expulsion from the party” a  statement announcing his expulsion on July 27 read.

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC), acting in compliance of article 48(1) of the NDC constitution unanimously adopted the report and accepts full responsibility for your expulsion from the party” .

“You, are, therefore by the decision of FEC expelled from the National Democratic Congress and for that matter, you are no more recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry.

 Anyidoho gave us no option

Speaking to the media, the General Secretary, Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia said, Mr Anyidoho left them no option than to expel him from the party since he evaded all attempt to haul him before the disciplinary committee.

 According to him, the committee reached out to him via letters, emails, couriers services and even WhatsApp messages but he declines those invitations hence the committee was let with no choice but to make their decision.

“……..They have tried all the means. If you have read the report, we did, they use ordinary letters, he refuse to accept it. It was sent by courier which has been receipted and he actually indicated that he will not accept the letter on two occasions. As for WhatsApp email messages and email messages, several of them so they came to the conclusions that he was simply evading and so they then draw the conclusion and recommended his expulsion,” he told TV3 News360.

However, Mr Anyidoho in response to the comment noted he had not been served with any letters as mentioned.

 He also said nobody had expelled him from the party since he had not received any letter to that effect.

Give me my expulsion letter

Mr Anyidoho subsequently in a letter sighted by GhanaPlus.com wrote to Mr Asiedu Nketia to furnish him with his expulsion letter but that also he had noted had not yielded any response from him.
