Volta Deserves Better: Hon. Doh Urges Leaders to Fulfill Promises

Hon. Theophilus Kwadzo Doh, Assembly Member for Nyagbo Sroe Electoral Area in Afadzato South, has called for leaders in the Volta Region to sign a social contract with citizens, aiming to ensure accountability and drive regional development.
Despite the prominence of Volta citizens in key national roles, the region still lags in critical development areas, prompting Hon. Doh to urge for stronger leadership accountability.
He referenced the NDC’s 2024 election manifesto, encouraging citizens to hold leaders accountable for unfulfilled promises and pushing for a checklist approach to ensure that the Volta Region receives its fair share of national resources.
Highlighting the poor state of infrastructure, particularly roads like the Ho-Accra, Ho-Aflao, and Ho-Sogakorfe highways, Hon. Doh urged citizens to put politics aside and unite in demanding better development outcomes for the region.
The NDC manifesto addresses important issues in the Volta Region, such as road construction, health promotion, airport upgrades, and sports development. However, Hon. Doh expressed uncertainty about the party’s ability to win the upcoming general election, citing financial resources as a key factor in delivering on campaign promises.
He called for politicians to be measured in their promises, urging them to avoid empty pledges that hinder the development of both the region and the nation as a whole.
