A lot of men chasing me for love
Celebrated Ghanaian actress, Adwoa Smart has revealed that men have been worrying her with love messages and several proposals even though she remains a ‘secondary virgin’ and has had several failed relationships, MyNewsGh.com reports
The actress speaking with Hammer Nti on Kumasi-based Pure FM’s ‘Hammer Time’ entertainment program said she is looking for a tall man to settle down with even though men have been worrying her and she’s had unsuccessful relationships in the past.
“Hammer, men worry me. They’ve been worrying me a lot but as it stands now, I’m a secondary virgin. I’m innocent single and would like to settle down with a man who is quite taller than me.
You know we have to give birth to children that can outgrow my height.” The petite actress said amidst laughter.
Known in private life as Belinda Naa Ode Oku, Adwoa Smart has acted in numerous movies and drama episodes over several decades.
She was very popular and highly sought after during the heyday of Akan drama from 1980 to the year 2000 and beyond. She has also featured in several music videos.
Adwoa Smart came into prominence as a cast member of the long-running Akan drama series “Obra” (Life) which aired on GTV during the 80s and 90s.
Adwoa Smart has never been married, although she claims to have dated several men.
When she was about 18 years of age, she met Nana Yaw, a musician with the popular Obra Soul Train band. The couple had a baby girl but the child sadly died when she was about seven months old.
In 1993, she met a gentleman by the name of Alex but the relationship fizzled out due to irreconcilable differences about having children out of wedlock. Adwoa describes herself as a “secondary virgin”, given that she has given birth before, although the child did not survive.
