Age stated on my father’s funeral poster is his ‘football age’

Son of late highlife legend Dada KD, Jim Pee born Gyimah Peterson, has cast doubts on the age stated on his father’s funeral poster, describing it as a possible “football age,” while also rejecting claims that debt and depression led to his death.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Jim Pee addressed public conversations surrounding his father’s passing, including speculation about his age and alleged financial struggles abroad.

Questioning the accuracy of the age published, he remarked, “I’m sure it’s a ‘football age.’” His comment suggests that the officially stated age may not reflect his father’s true birth records.

Beyond the age debate, Jim Pee firmly dismissed assertions that his father died because of debts he allegedly owed in Germany.

Refuting that narrative, he said, “It was his time and he died. He did not die because of the debt he owed in Germany which got him depressed.”

He insisted that such claims misrepresent the reality and unfairly shape public perception about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death.

Shifting from speculation to personal reflection, JIM PEE spoke emotionally about the bond he shared with his father.

Expressing his grief, he said, “I miss him a lot. We had good times together.”

He described Dada KD as lively, engaging, and deeply involved in his children’s lives. “He was very interesting. He always had a story to tell. He was very fun,” he recalled.

According to him, the highlife musician was not just a public figure but an active and supportive father. “He was always hyping me, even on social media. He would call to check up. He was very present in my life,” he shared.

He added that his father’s presence extended beyond just him. “I’m sure he was also present in the lives of my other siblings,” he noted.
